Government to Develop Master Plan for Economic Uplift: Prime Minister Dahal

Lumbini: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has stated that the country's economy is showing improvement, and the government is set to unveil a master plan to further boost economic prospects.

Speaking at the 25th-anniversary celebration of the Amda Nepal Siddhartha Children and Women Hospital in Butwal, Prime Minister Dahal emphasized the considerable improvements in the economic sector since he assumed the role of prime minister. The government is committed to addressing the economic challenges facing the country.

Prime Minister Dahal noted that ongoing government efforts have contributed to the reduction of interest rates offered by banks and financial institutions, expressing the goal of lowering interest rates to single-digit figures. He also highlighted an increase in foreign exchange reserves, remittances, and government revenue.

The Prime Minister revealed that the government is actively working to revise the monetary policy and the financial sector, assuring industrialists and entrepreneurs that positive changes are on the horizon.

Healthcare has been given top priority under the current government, with a focus on social security in the health sector. Prime Minister Dahal shared the government's commitment to ensuring citizens' access to healthcare.

He also announced the allocation of 2,800 free hospital beds to serve the poor, disadvantaged, and vulnerable population. Private and community hospitals have been encouraged to dedicate 10% of their total beds for free treatment of individuals in need.

Prime Minister Dahal praised Amda Nepal's contributions to maternal and child health, recognizing the hospital's role in providing essential services and quality healthcare to even the most remote patients.

Lila Giri, former Chief Minister of Lumbini Province and leader of the CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party in the Province Assembly, commended the hospital's services and called for impartiality in its operations.

Tularam Gharti Magar, Speaker of Lumbini Province Assembly, commended the hospital as a model healthcare facility for children and women in Lumbini Province. Dr. Shigeru Suganami, President of Amda International, expressed the organization's commitment to expanding its services, transforming the hospital into a medical college, and providing healthcare in conflict-affected regions worldwide.
